Symbion-DX provides a standard software environment for controlling, sequencing, and networking diverse analytical instruments, sampling systems, and data analysis routines. In short, Symbion manages the measurement process – from application development to routine on-line operation. During development it provides all of the tools needed to design virtually any analytical method. Once a method has been developed, it can be locked down and provided with a custom operator screen with access to predetermined set of operations and displays.
Symbion-RX is based directly on the Symbion-DX Process Analytical Software Suite. However, the -RX version adds a number of safeguards designed to streamline the validation of manufacturing processes by making compliance with regulations such as 21 CFR, Part 11 as automatic as possible. For example, Symbion-RX does not allow the deletion of data or measurement configurations from the data base. In addition, all operations and messages are automatically and permanently logged and all modifications to configurations saved and tracked.
Symbion-LX provides a subset of the capabilities of Symbion-DX and RX chosen to best meet the requirements of analytical laboratory applications. Symbion-LX is essentially three programs in one. First, it paves the way for streamlining laboratory and process development activities by providing a common operational and data management format for diverse instruments. Second, it provides an easy migration path from development to on-line process monitoring through its compatibility with Symbion-DX and RX. Third, it provides an economical means for viewing and analyzing both spectroscopic and time-dependent data collected by means of Symbion-DX/RX process analysis programs.
